PC & SMARTPHONE: HOW TO BLOCK INTERNET-YOUTUBE-SOCIAL NETWORK ADVERTISEMENTS!

Eliminating annoying advertising that appears on the screen when surfing the net or watching films on youtube or social networks such as facebook on both PCs and smartphones is easy and free.

PC QUICK GUIDE: STOP ADVERTISING

The first thing to do is to choose a browser. Many use Chrome or Firefox, I personally recommend “IRIDIUM” exclusively or alternatively for those who are less experienced “WATERFOX”.

Once download the browser you prefer you need to install the add-ons, which is small software that improves privacy protection and blocks advertisements even while using Google/Bing etc. (I strongly advise not to use them).

ADD-ONS: WHICH ONE

Below is a useful list of add-ons. By clicking the one you prefer, you will be able to download and install them directly from the official site (without going through Google’s page). You will need to choose the version. If you are using Waterfax choose the Firefox version as Waterfox is a variant of it.

Some add-ons will install automatically, others require download and install first. In the latter case, double-click on the downloaded file and select Waterfox as the programme to open it, then click on add in the small menu that opens and finally on ok if another small menu appears.

Add-ons list:

– HTTPS Everywhere = Forces the connection of sites over a secure protocol
– Privacy Badger = Blocks advertising and tracking of your site visits
– uBlockOrigin = Blocks advertising everywhere: search engines, youtube, social
– Decentraleyes = Improves your privacy when surfing the net and on social networks

These suggested blockers will prevent any advertising while you surf on google or youtube or facebook or more generally on the net. Remember to check every now and then to update both your browser and add-ons.

SMARTPHONE QUICK GUIDE: STOP ADVERTISING

The guide for PCs also works for smartphones, but you have to use the duckduckgo browser downloadable from the google playstore. Also from the playstore, I recommend downloading Blockada, which blocks any advertising even in video games or news apps or like on Telegram or wherever else you use on your smartphone.

You can also download it from the official website.
